Building Houses

Having a good and safe house is a vital step toward eliminating disease and giving the villagers a sense of pride. After a dock is in place, the old huts are replaced with new houses with corrugated metal roofs. These homes are modest with basically 4 walls and a roof, but they are safe and last a long time. A team of 5-8 workers can build a house from start to nish in just one 3-4 day trip to the islands.
